The Sarapiqui Outdoor Center has been offering high-quality rafting and kayaking trips since 1990.
They are the pioneering whitewater company in Sarapiqui and the only kayak school with certified instructors in Costa Rica. They offer a variety of excursions and kayak clinics for adventurers of all levels, from beginners to experts.
Additionally, the Sarapiqui River is a Natural Monument of Costa Rica and is considered the best river for whitewater rafting in the country, with classes ranging between II & III and IV.

We are located right on the Sarapiqui river, about 1 hour south from the Center of La Fortuna, a small town home of many outdoor experience, less crowded and strategically located in one of the most attractive part of Costa Rica. Here the people love, respect and live with the river

There are six categories, each referred to as grade or class followed by a number. The scale is not linear, nor is it fixed. For instance, there can be difficult grade twos, easy grade threes, and so on. The grade of a river may (and usually does) change with the level of flow. Often a river or rapid will be given a numerical grade, and then a plus (+) or minus (-) to indicate if it is in the higher or lower end of the difficulty level.
